Hi, I’m Billy — a machine learning engineer based in London, working at the intersection of AI / data science and social good.
I’m currently a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Sightline Climate (CTVC), helping investors, corporates and governments figure out where to put capital to actually move the needle on climate tech.
Experience
- Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Sightline Climate (CTVC) (current)
- Founding AI Engineer, Cocomo — designed autonomous media buying and marketing optimisation driven by first-party data, as part of building out the SaaS platform.
- Machine Learning Engineer, Trainline — worked on the GenAI-powered Travel Assistant product.
- Senior Data Scientist, EF Education First — built traditional ML applications across marketing, advertising, sales and operations.
Communities & Side Projects
- Co-Founder, KindTech — using technology and AI to support charities and social-good organisations.
- Co-Founder, Reportable (2020 – 2025) — a volunteer group making it easier for East and South East Asian communities in the UK to report and get support around hate crime.
- Crisis Modelling Lead, Europe Must Act (2020 – 2022) — modelled COVID-19 spread in refugee camps and other low-resource settings, in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute.
- Co-Founder, AI for Good London (2019 – 2022) — a community building hands-on AI projects for social impact.
- Long-term volunteer, DataKind UK — supporting charities with responsible data and AI use.
- Summer Fellow, Data Science for Social Good Foundation (2020).
- Talent, UNLEASH — Innovation Lab for the UN SDGs, Shenzhen (2019).
